Firstly, I’d like to start by saying that I am seeing a collective healing happening all around me. I am proud of all of you for giving yourselves the permission to level up, expand, and fully express yourselves. The loss of a system of meaning is the 5th symptom category of CPTSD and, in my opinion, also the most inaccurate. When we are dealing with complex trauma, we don’t lose our systems of meaning; we merely lose access to them. It then becomes about tapping into our self-energy to unburden ourselves to be able to enjoy the limitless possibilities that come with self-belief. Today, I will be explaining why losing a system of meaning is hard to define, the mistakes our protective parts make when trying to find meaning in trauma, the joys of unburdening ourselves and gaining access to meaning through self-energy, and why you may be afraid of letting go of despair.
